As a Strategic Project Manager and part of our Transformation Team, you will drive success through careful planning, constructive collaboration, big-picture thinking, focusing on results and outcomes, and an awesome attitude.
In this role, you'll help cross-functional teams of various sizes execute high-value projects and have the opportunity to work closely with our executive leadership team to enhance internal operations and enact meaningful change by developing, managing and monitoring cross-departmental projects that drive long-term business value. What you'll do:
- Lead special projects identified by the Executive team as critical to NAVEX's strategic priorities
- Engage with stakeholders to understand desired outcomes, build action plans, and work toward solutions
- Collaborate with executive management to identify desired strategic outcomes, and implement changes
- Lead project teams in regular stand-up meetings, progress checks, and problem-solving exercises
- Prepare and present results and opportunities for review by executive management
- Maintain project schedules, delegate tasks, identify task dependencies and designate major due dates
- Build positive long-term business relations across many departments while driving for operational improvement
- Constantly assess potential risks and develop solid strategies to anticipate and overcome obstacles
- Serve as the primary liaison throughout each project
- Continually improve your personal project management methodologies and practices, as well as those of NAVEX
What you'll need:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent required; PMP certification is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in strategy consulting, project management and change management. Systems migration/ implementation experience and familiarity with Lean process methodologies a plus
- Ability to identify, scope, and manage projects, tasks and risks
- Ability to learn and understand a complex process, and identify root causes of failure and areas of improvement
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to direct meetings, facilitate technical discussions, and coach teams to solve problems
- Ability to set and manage personal goals and deadlines and be self-directed
- Methodical and data-driven approach to problem solving, giving the ability to provide practical and efficient solutions
- Advanced Smartsheet, PowerPoint and Excel skills to support data analysis, dashboard creation and executive presentations/briefings
- Quality approach to work, with an appreciation for procedures and controls
- A flexible, highly positive outlook with superb organization skills
