The Meetings & Events intern will support the successful execution of meetings and conferences by assisting with planning, logistics, and registration processes for API industry segments and committees.

Projects and Tasks

  • Work with API Meeting & Events Managers to enter meeting details, and manager workflows in Cvent.
  • In collaboration with Meetings & Events Managers, coordinates logistics for assigned events, including:
    1. Room selection and setup.
    2. Food service arrangements and menu selection.
    3. Audio visual, technical and electrical requirements.
    4. Transportation and site staffing.
  • Assist the API Sr. Director, Events to coordinate logistics for the API Summer Picnic
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, documenting messages and escalating urgent requests within 24 hours

Qualifications

  • Degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning or Travel and Tourism Management Preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to program policies and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer
  • Move about the office to access office machinery, meeting rooms, etc.
  • Operate a computer and other office machinery such as printers and copy machines
  • Transport items and equipment up to 25 lbs. on occasion
