Position SummaryThe UNM School of Engineering Dean's Office is seeking a highly motivated, hardworking, outgoing, and friendly student who can navigate in a professional environment. This student will work at the front desk and must be able to interact with students/faculty/staff in a professional manner. Some of the key attributes we are looking for in the student are punctuality, maturity, and personal initiative. In a front desk position, you will answer phones, email, and greet visitors who could be students, faculty, staff, alumni, high level leadership, or leaders of industry or government. You will calendar appointments in MS Outlook (which are sometimes complex) for all leadership in the office. You will learn UNM Purchasing rules and systems to help with purchasing for the office. You will assist with administrative tasks for the SOE graduation and other SOE events. You will work with confidential donor and alumni data, and make "thank you" calls to donors. And you will run errands and provide other office support as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • GPA of 3.0 or better, pursuing any degree.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions.
  • Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and to make evaluative judgements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
