Job Description

Directs, plans, organizes and evaluates the staff and activities of physical assets design services. Develops system wide design standards, consults with organization leadership and ensures projects are completed within budget and schedule.

Job Responsibility




  • Develops and monitors strategic operating goals, objectives and budget; reports operation performance justification and-or corrective action for the design services division.
  • Develops Physical Assets standards for design and space planning.
  • Advises the leadership concerning functional, quantitative and qualitative aspects of facilities as related to program needs.
  • Evaluates existing organization facilities and consults with senior leadership on future uses.
  • Provides recommendations and plans for physical and design improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with appropriate codes and compliance with government and agency regulations.
  • Supports the development of selection procedures and standards for Physical Assets Architectural and Engineering Contracts.
  • Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action.
  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.


Job Qualification




  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Licensed, Registered Architect in the State of New York, preferred, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 3-5 years of technical experience, required.
