Primary Objective:

The Fab Product Engineer is responsible for product ownership related to the fab manufacturing process and testing. Fab Product Engineer owns the product which entails multiple responsibilities. Engineer investigates yield issues and low yield events by finding root cause using statistical methods and electrical analysis. Engineer investigates shifts in bin loss or product performance using statistical methods. Engineer feeds back analysis to process engineers for improvements in fab. Engineer conducts electrical failure analysis using SORT tester to determine failure signature. Engineer submits failure analysis jobs for further investigations into yield or quality issues. Product engineer is the key support for customer returns on products due to knowledge of fab, product, and SORT testing flow. Product engineer determines limits for disposition of material and backups associate engineers and technicians on disposition. Engineer supports business unit engineers on assembly testing or customer issues.

Skills:

PEs are expected to have or develop substantial skills in the following:

• Goal setting
• Data analysis/mining applications and techniques
• Logical problem solving
• Statistical Process Control and Cp/CpK calculations
• Electrical testing and Tester Knowledge
• Physical and electrical failure analysis
• Risk management

Knowledge:

PEs are expected to have or develop relevant knowledge of the following:

• Device physics and transistor fundamentals
• Probability and statistics
• Wafer level test program, conditions and capabilities
• Product design, usage, and functionality
• Fab process technology and flow
• SORT test understanding and relationship to electrical test
• Parametric test parameters and their influences/effects
• WET tester/probecard operation
• Reliability physics

Requirements:

• Technology related BS degree plus 5 years related experience, MS degree, or PhD degree.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in product, performance, data analysis, and testing characterization, with the ability to organize and lead projects.
• Preferred candidates have had experience working with testers and SORT yield testing methodologies.
