Position Description: Manage Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Business Information Modeling (BIM) detailing workflows on single, multiple, and/or complex projects in collaboration with engineers and Trade subcontractors. Assess and manage quality control for 2D documentation and 3D models for efficiency and accuracy. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Business Information Modeling (BIM) detailing workflows for single, multiple, and/or complex projects adhering to timely and accurate deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with VDC team, field engineering team, project managers, and Trade subcontractors to execute detailed modeling solutions.
- Participate in and contribute VDC BIM detailing expertise to Trade coordination meetings to help review and resolve multi-disciplinary conflicts.
- Oversee work and deliverables of VDC BIM team members and provide feedback and technical guidance of BIM models.
- Contribute to development and implementation of project-specific BIM strategies, develop scope and process, anticipate challenges, risks, and opportunities, and communicate strategy to project team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and development of VDC BIM standards and workflow activities for deliverables.
- Develop advanced expertise in multiple VDC BIM platforms.
- Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited degree program in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management, advanced degree or Master's Degree preferred, with minimum of 4 years of related experience or in a related role, or equivalent education, training, and experience
- Able to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and specifications related to virtual design and construction
- Professional verbal and written communication skills with presentation delivery skills
- Ability to manage competing demands and collaborate with others
- Able to review/assess work, provide feedback, and prioritize responsibilities for self and others
- Proficient in computer applications, Microsoft Office suite of applications, collaboration tools, and advanced knowledge and use of multiple BIM based computer applications (e.g., Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Revit, Construction Cloud (ACC), and AutoCAD; Trimble SketchUp and Tekla Structures; and similar BIM authoring/management tools)
- Able to engage in collaborative professional and technical dialogue with stakeholders ability to tailor communications for non-technical audiences
- Able to work in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment
- Ability to develop specialized solutions and anticipate challenges, risks, and opportunities
- Familiar with continuous improvement culture, concepts, principles, methods, and tools
- Limited travel
