The College of Nursing has an opening for full-time Pediatric Behavioral Health Provider position within its federally qualified community health center, Sheridan Health Services (SHS), located in southwest Denver, CO (zip code: 80236).

Nature of Work:

The University of Colorado, College of Nursing, is seeking an Pediatric Behavioral Health Provider for a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefits-eligible position within its federally qualified community health center, Sheridan Health Services (SHS), in Denver, CO. This position is focused on Adolescent and Pediatric populations, will be a part of our pediatric integrated care/school-based health center, and will collaborate with the pediatric team to provide both integrated care services in clinic and provide support to Sheridan School District for school-based therapy services during the school year. This position is clinic-based as a mental health provider and includes an Instructor or Senior Instructor (open rank) level, non-tenure clinical practice track appointment within the College of Nursing.

Clinic Description:

Sheridan Health Services is a multi-site, nurse-managed federally qualified community health center, funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration Bureau of Primary Healthcare; and is a collaborative effort between the College of Nursing and the Sheridan School District. There are two convenient locations to serve community health needs primarily for residents of Arapahoe, Denver and Jefferson counties. A Youth Health Clinic is located in the Sheridan School District Administration building. The Family Health Clinic is located in southwest Denver on the Fort Logan campus and provides services to adults and children, 65% of whom identify at Latinx, and 42% of whom are best served in another language, with Spanish being the predominant second language. Services offered include primary care across the lifespan; prenatal and postpartum, gynecology, dentistry, pharmacy, behavioral health, and outpatient substance use treatment. Sheridan Health Services is a Patient-Centered Medical Home, and as such we uphold a model of care that places the patient at the center, incorporating the values and beliefs of the patient in all decision-making. Supervision Received:

Direct supervision will be provided by the Behavioral Health Program Director.

Supervision Exercised:

Opportunities to provide supervision to Master's level counseling/social work students available. Opportunities to provide clinical supervision of unlicensed Behavioral Health Providers as available.

Examples of Work Performed:

* Provide brief behavioral health therapy and screenings in an integrated medical setting for parents, adolescents, and/or children.

* Provide general outpatient behavioral health treatment via individual, group and family therapy, care coordination, crisis management, skill building, and psychoeducation to parents, children and/or adolescents.

* Contribute as a member of multidisciplinary teams (comprised of medical, psychiatry, dental, pharmacy, patient navigation, health education, and other BHPs) in delivering behavioral health services to patients

* Provide care coordination with providers of service including but not limited to primary care providers, school personnel, family members, and other mental health and community partners.

* Evaluate crisis situations and take appropriate action to ensure client safety and the safety of all clinic users.

* Participate in scheduled behavioral health team meetings, interdisciplinary work groups, monthly staff meetings, and other required meetings.

* Complete all required clinical and administrative documentation to accepted standards of practice, accurately, legibly, and by established timelines on electronic health record system and paper as needed.

* Utilize evidence-based practices and provide all treatment within appropriate scope.

* Complete and follow through with financial and clinical information necessary to ensure reimbursement for provided services.

* Completes necessary documentation according to established documentation timelines and in adherence with payor source(s) standards and clinic policy

* Expected to demonstrate high quality customer service focus, good communication and professionalism with clinic users, co-workers and representatives from outside agencies and to enhance community relationships.

* Perform other duties as determined by the Behavioral Health Clinical Lead, Behavioral Health Director or Executive Director.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Denver, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Instructor (Unlicensed):

* Master's degree in social work, counseling or closely related field.

* Completion of one year of post-degree work experience in behavioral health:

o Can be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies.

Instructor (Licensed):

* Master's degree in social work, counseling or closely related field.

* Current licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or similar.

o Current licensure in good standing (any state). Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have CO licensures by date of hire.

Senior Instructor:

* Master's degree in social work, counseling or closely related field.

* Current licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or similar.

o Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have CO licensures by date of hire.

* Demonstrated leadership in area of practice.

* Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic colleagues and students in practice activities.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience utilizing bilingual (Spanish/English) skills at a conversational level in a clinical setting

* Experience providing behavioral health services in a primary care setting, using brief treatment modalities with an emphasis on time effective, recovery oriented, evidenced-based treatment.

* Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, SUD subspecialty certification, and/or Certified Addiction Technician/Specialist certification.

* Experience working with population-based outcomes.

* Experience with prevention and early intervention approaches utilizing trauma informed care.

* Experience with school-based therapy services.

* Experience with maternal/child mental health.

Conditions of Employment:

* Must be willing and able to obtain Colorado licenses by date of hire.

* Must be willing and able to obtain valid NPI number by date of hire.

* Must be willing and able to complete CAQH by date of hire.

* Must be willing and able to obtain current BLS/CPR certification within one month of hire.

Competencies:

* Ability to use computer and clinic software, and to document in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with thoroughness and accuracy.

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of staff, faculty, community members, and clients.

* Expertise in clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions with children and youth, families, and groups.

* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of primary care-behavioral health integrated programs, including fundamental elements of co-located and/or fully integrated services.

* Ability to effectively utilize computer and electronic medical record.

* Ability to maintain standard caseload of patients

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:

* Instructor (Unlicensed): $53,168 annually

* Instructor (Licensed): $66,460 - $74,767 annually

* Senior Instructor: $67,125 - $75,515 annually

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
