Safety is #1 at BTD:Our expectation is that every employee:1) Strictly follows safety policies, rules and safe work methods.2) Promptly corrects or reports safety hazards or unsafe conditions. Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety.

Essential Functions:



  1. Both oversees and provides the orientation, onboarding and development to new, hourly employees.



  1. Monitors positions that require annual certification such as forklift etc. and conducts the training for recertifications as needed.



  1. Develops and delivers customized training per request.



  1. Assists Leadership with creation and progress of Individual Development Plans, for themselves and their Leads.



  1. Effectively holds online trainings with all other locations.



  1. Identify implementation needs for new programs and drive continuous improvements for existing programs.



  1. Ability to develop new programs from scratch.



  1. Research and develop departmental training guide for essential function of the OJT.



  1. Coordinates use of outside technical training resources as necessary to meet business needs.



  1. Assists leadership in updating and maintaining the required skill flex for all positions.



  1. Be the liaison between the OTJ trainer, supervisor and new department employee.



  1. Prioritize training needs submitted by leadership and employees.



  1. Assists with job interviews as needed.



  1. Assist the Leading & Development Manager in projects as requested.



  1. Provides newly hired employees with the basic skill set for success.



  1. As required, takes on the duties of the Leading & Development Manager in their absence.


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from high school, college or technical school degree preferred, leadership experience in a metal fabricating environment.

Experience and Skills Required: At least three years of recent related production experience which includes the following skills and abilities:



  1. Excellent computer database, customer service skills, and experience with documentation systems required.



  1. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.



  1. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, organized and able to prioritize.



  1. Ability to establish and maintain strong, cooperative working relationships with others.



  1. Able to present ideas effectively, orally and in writing, as well as strong public speaking/relations skills.



  1. Strong working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in production operations.



  1. Must be able to understand and follow routine oral and written instructions.



  1. Must be able to delegate work as workload defines.

Compensation Salary Range: OTC8 $52,020-78,070. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(K) match, etc.
