Director, IT Business Insights & Analytics

The Director, IT Data & Analytics is responsible for leading strategic business enablement and transformation initiatives leveraging Data & Analytics functions for BFS. Enable Business Insights delivery capability to support BFS initiatives requiring timely Analytics and Insights aiding business decision making. Accountable for building strategic roadmaps, teams, skills to support Insights delivery in a product/project based agile delivery framework. Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders in identifying opportunities in their respective roadmaps requiring critical data Insights. The role will be key leading transformation initiatives related to modernizing Enterprise data assets and supporting digital transformation at Builders First Source. The role will be responsible for executing on the data strategy, managing stakeholder communication, vendor relationships establishing standardized Analytics/Insights development, delivery, and governance framework/processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate and build relationships with our business partners to better understand strategic vision and support their data and analytic needs.
• Partners and collaborates across multiple stakeholders to ensure delivery; engages and pushes for alignment with senior stakeholders.
• Accountable for delivery and design of large and/ or complex projects and/ or programs, provides input on Data and Analytics strategy and objectives.
• Manage business cases aligned to strategic business initiatives, transformation / integration efforts, resource planning, and process improvement related to data analytics.
• Proactively partner and communicate across business and IT functions for shared learning and to continue to elevate our analytics practice.
• Manage the Analytics capability roadmaps developing the competencies and technologies to proactively address the business data needs.
• Execute data strategies with an understanding of enterprise architecture, consumption patterns, platforms, and application infrastructure.
• Ability to assess business processes which generates data or consumes data to provide data driven recommendations.
• Leads delivery as well as execute support work to enable the teams, solutions and capabilities around business insights and Analytics.
• Uses analytics to explain business results, monitor business strategies and identify actionable opportunities.
• Advocates for insightful reports and dashboards, automated analytics and action driven results.
• Identifies and incorporates emerging tooling and data sources.
• Leverages industry best practices, market data and reporting technology trends to identify and implement business opportunities.
• Support and mature the BI function to support advanced analytics, AI/ML deployment and automation.
• Accountable for Analytics platform upgrade and maintenance for MicroStrategy, SAP Cloud Analytics, Power BI and others
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Master Data Management & Data Governance teams on deliverables in a seamless delivery model.
• Defines best practices and presentation materials that are aligned with quality standards and internal client expectations.
• Directs platform vendor product support relationship; provides direction on vendor selection and services.
• Determines need/extent of vendor services.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises assigned employees both on site and remotely located, including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Information systems/Technology, Computer Science, any of the Engineering disciplines, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in leading Business Analysis or Data Analytics teams
• Industry experience with report development, data warehousing, business analytics, and using data science/business intelligence tools.
• Very strong in Data Visualization & Story Telling expertise.
• Experience in big data ecosystem implementing analytics, and advanced visualization (i.e., Reporting Tools, Cloud Analytics and AI/ML Platforms).
• Enabled analytical solutions such as SAP SAC, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, SFDC Analytics etc.,
• Manufacturing and & Distribution industry experience a plus.

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Eligibility and the amount of the bonus varies based on overall company success, thresholds met and other terms and conditions of the Company's active bonus policy for the respective year.
