Job Summary:
The Instruction and Reference Librarian will be responsible for providing direct service to users through course-related instruction, consultations, and responses to reference inquiries. This position will also participate substantially in the development of MERIT's collections. In addition, the librarian will work to embody a strong, proactive patron-service ethic. This position works in MERIT (Media, Education, Research, and Information Technology), a vibrant service unit with a collaborative team of teaching and learning specialists, information technologists, and librarians that stewards the School of Education's Information Environment. Through ongoing leadership in the adoption of emerging technologies, MERIT empowers members of the School of Education community and its partners to achieve excellence. This position reports to the Public Services Manager. School of Education / MERIT (Media, Education, Research, and Information Technology) Compensation:Minimum: $56,112 Commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, competitively priced health/dental/vision/life insurance, tax-advantaged savings accounts, and participation in the nationally recognized Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund.
The preferred minimum is an MA or MLIS in Library and Information Studies (or equivalent). A bachelor's degree is required.
