Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed External Prisoner Transport in Clearwater, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining visible and approachable. This position requires you to be armed and to operate a vehicle as part of your patrol responsibilities. You will provide exceptional customer service and communication, supporting a secure environment through teamwork, reliability, and integrity as part of the Allied Universal team.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing training and judgment to address issues as they arise.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Report and document incidents, observations, and activities according to established protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders when required.
  • Remain alert to potential threats or unusual activity within the government setting and communicate concerns promptly to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Applicants must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Applicants must have at least two years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
