As part of the product team, this role will be responsible for supporting provider API's (application programing interface) specifically for the eligibility & benefit, and referral domains working across multiple delivery teams. You will be responsible for interfacing with stakeholders and internal teams to understand and communicate what changes are needed to support new initiatives, enable existing and how we deliver world class API's to both our internal and external consumers. While this role is not directly technical, a strong understanding of how products work and a clear vision for their interdependencies and data within our ecosystem is an absolute necessity.

In this position you will work closely with the Product Development team, the overall business (including key leadership stakeholders), clients, and the development team to ensure that the experiences that we are crafting align with the overall roadmap. You will also be asked to capture and synthesize the voice of the customer - which includes both Providers as well as internal users/stakeholders who are affected by the decisions made in this process.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own relationship with Functional Area SMEs, sharing vision and insights
  • Drive business work within the Agile process, sharing Business vision while understanding technical complexities
  • Working with the Sr Product Manager, help define and prioritize Features that will be groomed and developed by Product Development teams
  • Provide demonstrations to internal and external consumers
  • Lead Product Owners and teams to ensure user story alignment across multiple agile teams
  • Supports application testing and configuration with project teams to ensure solution will meet the business objectives of the requirements
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements, including defining API specifications, data models, and security protocols
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of the roadmap
  • Produce comprehensive API documentation, tutorials, and other educational materials
  • Demonstrated ability to use API tools such as Postman, Insomnia etc. and have a working knowledge of API design and development
  • Monitor API usage, performance, and reliability
  • Define success metrics and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Ensure consistency and reusability of APIs across products and channels by aligning requirements, standards, and governance practices
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including business units, partners, and customers
  • Communicate the value and benefits of APIs to a wide range of audiences

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of product management/product development in an organization delivering software in a Web/SaaS environment
  • Experience with product lifecycle process and experience working with agile software delivery tools (CA Agile, Aha etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, influence others and achieve goals in a matrixed environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare experience
  • Presently employed within UHC Provider Operations
  • Patient eligibility and benefits experience
  • Coordination of benefits (COB) experience
  • Aha/Rally experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
