Job description
Job Title: Senior Accountant Location: Chicago Illinois 60601 Duration : 3 Months (Contract to Hire) Pay Range : 38 - $43/ Hourly On W2 Job Summary : What your day-to-day will look like:
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for the business, ensuring all critical deadlines are met with accurate and timely reporting
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts, investigate variances, and document adjustments while maintaining compliance with US GAAP standards
- Conduct technical accounting research and analysis on complex topics including revenue recognition, consolidation, compensation arrangements, and lease accounting
- Perform value-added financial analysis comparing current results to prior periods, identifying trends and documenting findings to support business decision-making
- Maintain and execute internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, supporting both internal and external audit processes
- Collaborate with Regional/Global Controllership, Finance, Tax, and Legal teams to document and resolve Work Dynamics-specific accounting issues
- Mentor junior staff members and interns while contributing to process standardization initiatives across regions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with minimum 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Active CPA certification with strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with demonstrated ability to handle complex financial modeling and analysis
- Proven experience in financial process management and implementing best practices in a corporate environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, MSA, or other relevant advanced degree in accounting or finance
- Public accounting experience with exposure to SEC reporting and audit processes
- Experience with financial reporting systems and compilation of financial statements for public companies
- Previous experience in commercial real estate, facilities management, or professional services industries
- Experience working in matrix organizational structures with global or multi-regional teams
- Knowledge of lease accounting standards (ASC 842) and revenue recognition standards (ASC 606)
