Overview

The Quality Analyst (SW Development) is responsible for executing on quality assurance efforts, driving automation, and improving testing processes for complex software systems. This role requires technical expertise with databases, data pipelines and data stores, expertise with test automation, quality metrics, and performance testing. The Quality Analyst works closely with software development and product teams to ensure high-quality software and data pipelines, collaborates closely with other QA team members, and executes on initiatives to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.



Responsibilities

    Develops, publishes and executes test plan and other functional documents.
  • Investigates problems, identifies their root cause, and clearly documents findings.
  • Collaborate on the authority of test plan development and test cases & scenarios with developers and business analysts.
  • Accepts, analyzes and prioritizes system bugs as reported by internal and external end users, assuring compliance with Q&A standards.
  • Raises usability concerns and proposes solutions to problems after performing thorough investigation, considering the needs of the client.
  • Proposes suggestions for additions and improvements to the software.
  • Completes all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance plan.
  • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of significant Quality Assurance background, including functional, integration, and regression testing with direct experience in the development and implementation of test data and exposure to industry leading Quality Assurance related testing and automation tools.

Manual Testing:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and executing manual test cases.
  • Proficient in regression testing, functional testing, and integration testing.
  • Strong SQL skills for data validations; experience in writing and executing joins, aggregations and stored procedure testing.
  • Hands on experience running ETL jobs and writing shell commands.

Automated Testing:

  • 5+ years of Java/Selenium experience.
  • 3+ years of JavaScript experience.
  • 1+ years of Cypress experience.
  • Experience executing Jenkins builds with parameters.
  • Experience troubleshooting automation script failures and fixing them.
  • Experience maintaining automation frameworks based on application changes.

General Requirements:

  • Experience in defect management tools like JIRA.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of relational databases with proven competency in solving complex problems related to data related software testing with a strong working knowledge of structured query language (SQL) and associated tools.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Skilled in documentation and presentation tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
  • Experience in iterative development cycles with frequent releases and experience with "Scrum" methodologies.

Cognitive / Mental Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Able to translate regulatory/clinical requirements into technical solutions and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and a track record of driving initiatives from concept to implementation.
  • Leadership and mentorship capabilities are essential - this role will guide teams and represent Cotiviti's interoperability expertise both internally and externally, so the candidate should be comfortable taking initiative, "leading without authority" when required, and mentoring others.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance.

Base compensation ranges from $72,000 to $94,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
