The Role Amphenol Military High Speed is seeking an Engineering Manager (Electronics)to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY. The key responsibilities of this Engineering Manger (Electronics) include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage a team of electronics focused engineers (embedded hardware, analog/digital electronics, FPGA/ASIC interface, high-speed design)
- Oversee the engineering lifecycle for AMHS products: concept, requirements, architecture, design, prototype, verification, qualification, production hand-off
- Ensure design compliance with ruggedization standards (e.g., extreme temperature, shock, vibration, altitude) typical for aerospace/defense applications.
- Partner with systems engineering, mechanical engineering, firmware/FPGA teams, manufacturing, test, supply chain and program management to deliver on schedule, cost, and performance targets
- Foster technical innovation (e.g., new product development/product enhancements)
- Define and manage engineering processes, budgets, resources, schedules and risk mitigation efforts
- Set and drive metrics for engineering team performance (throughput, quality, reliability/MTBF, cost)
- Hire, develop, motivate and retain high-performance engineering talent; conduct performance reviews, set individual development plans
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and technical excellence
- Provide technical leadership, coach engineers in their career development, and serve as escalation point for complex technical issues
- Represent the electronics engineering discipline in senior leadership forums, provide regular updates on portfolio, resource needs and risks

Salary: $80,000 - $125,000 The Person The key skills and qualities of a at Amphenol Military High Speed:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Engineering (CE)
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex electronics products (e.g., media converters, Ethernet switches, high-speed connectors, optical modules) through full lifecycle in rugged/harsh-environment markets
- Strong technical knowledge of analog/digital electronics, signal integrity, high-speed data communications, connector technology, media conversion and embedded systems
- Experience managing engineering resources, schedules, budgets and cross-functional dependencies
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to lead and develop engineers
- Proven track record of achieving engineering delivery: defined requirements, managed trade-offs, mitigated risk, and delivered cost/performance targets
- Familiar with aerospace/defense qualification standards (shock/vibration/altitude/humidity, MIL-STD, etc.)
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
Preferred
- Master's degree in EE, CE or related field
- Experience in aerospace/defense market electronics
- Familiarity with high-density/quadrax contact technology, fiber optic conversion, rugged media converters or rugged Ethernet switch products
- Experience with reliability predictions (MTBF), board-level ruggedization, and test protocols for extreme environments.
