Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is seeking a Server Operations Specialist to support our team in Idaho Falls, ID. This position will be supporting Department of Energy - Idaho (DOE-ID) and will be 100% onsite.

The Server Operations Specialist supports day-to-day cybersecurity operations for the Department of Energy - Idaho, including vulnerability management, security patching, mobile device management and compliance, access control, and general cyber support tasks. This role works closely with senior cybersecurity staff to help protect DOE-ID information systems and ensure compliance with federal security requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Assist with vulnerability management by reviewing workstation scan results, supporting and performing remediation activities.
  • Support monthly security patching and application update cycles for workstations, mobile devices, and other approved systems.
  • Manage all DOE-ID iPhone mobile devices including issuing, configuring, and updating them,
  • Monitor endpoint and mobile device compliance, and support the configuring and securing of government-issued devices.
  • Perform basic Active Directory account management tasks, including creating, updating, and disabling user accounts and access permissions.
  • Maintain accurate device inventory and support secure device lifecycle activities (setup, updates, replacement, and decommissioning).
  • Assist with cybersecurity documentation, SOP updates, reporting requirements, and user security communications.
  • Respond to assigned tickets and routine security-related service requests.
  • Oversee the IT Customer Support functions in helping provide a high-quality level of support for DOE-ID.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Eight (8) years of direct IT government support experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Over 10 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or field services supporting federal customers.
  • Familiarity with system updates, configuration management, and basic cybersecurity concepts.
  • Ability to follow procedures, analyze information, and communicate technical issues clearly.
  • Ability to maintain an accurate inventory of all DOE-ID devices including mobile devices.


Other Qualifications:



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have at least an active DOE "L" Clearance with the ability to obtain a "Q" Clearance.

These include, but are not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align with the specific role, geographic location, educational background, and contract provisions related to labor categories specific to the position. We are committed to offering a competitive compensation package that reflects the value and expertise that each candidate brings to our team.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is $85,000 - $90,000.
