Ensuring clinical competencies of MAs/Nursing
Facilitating the onboarding process
Management of quality metrics and implementation of action plans
Clinical education - presenting on Town Halls (needs great communication skills)
Rounding to practices within the region/assessing clinical workflows
Emergency preparedness education
Infection prevention support
Improve North/Policy and Procedure committees
Collaborating with the Quality dept. and Service Lines for best practices
Developing strategies with regards to clinical initiatives
Review of data and metrics
Clinical employee engagement activities
Interviewing team members (recruitment and retention activities)
Being the liaison between Practice operations team and clinical needs
other clinical duties as needed.

Job Responsibility



  • Maintains current knowledge of and ensures compliance with all regulatory and professional standards of care which includes Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), International Health Institute (IHI), Community Alternatives Programs (CAP), etc.
  • Develops, prepares and monitors the personnel, long-term unit staffing schedules, supply and equipment budgets in collaboration with the staff and support department directors in accordance with established staffing needs.
  • Identifies research protocols effecting the patient population served and keeps nursing staff informed.
  • Develops unit goals and objectives to support the institutional values and goals, with input from staff.
  • Responsible for the overall planning process for the unit.
  • Conducts monthly meetings with the staff to address equipment, scheduling, goals and objectives, performance metrics and improvement activities, and any staff concerns.
  • Makes recommendations and provides opportunities for growth and development of personnel and arranges for appropriate education and training.
  • Also identify at least one potential successor to the Nurse Manager role.
  • Completes appropriate management conferences.
  • Oversees medication management, administration, procurement (from hospital and VFC) and storage.

Job Qualification




  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.
