Internship Overview

As an Ops Landfill Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in the daily operations of a landfill site, including environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, data collection, and site maintenance. This internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily landfill operations including waste inspection, cover application, and equipment monitoring
• Support environmental compliance activities such as groundwater sampling, gas monitoring, and leachate management
• Collect and analyze data related to waste volumes, site conditions, and environmental metrics
• Participate in safety briefings and ensure adherence to site safety protocols
• Help maintain records for regulatory reporting and internal audits
• Shadow landfill leaders and techs to understand site design and expansion planning
• Contribute to sustainability initiatives and community outreach programs

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Sustainability, or related field

Strong interest in waste management, environmental protection, and sustainability

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Basic understanding of environmental regulations and landfill operations (preferred)

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
