Job Description
ECU Parent & Family Programs and the Office of Student Transitions is seeking a Student Office Assistant to translate materials from English to Spanish.
Responsibilities
The Student Office Assistant will:

  • Translate a variety of written documents from English to Spanish while maintaining the content, context, and tone of the original text.
  • Documents to be translated may include promotional material, informational articles, power point presentations, event schedules, websites, and more.
  • Provide quality assurance for the translation process.
  • May have additional opportunity to assist Spanish-speaking students and their families at events such as New Student Orientation, Family Weekend, Pirates Aboard, etc.
  • Work up to 10 hours a week (typically less) between 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. May include periodic events outside of typical work hours including evenings or weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Qualifications

  • Must be a currently enrolled ECU student in good academic standing.
  • Proficient in Spanish language, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Organization and time management skills.
