Description

You will provide leadership and direction for the Surgery Clinics (non-hospital based), Surgery Scheduling Unit and works closely with the Division Chiefs, Executive CAO and provide back-up coverage for the Executive Director, and Clinical Director for the Department of Surgery. You will be responsible for personnel management and oversight of provider scheduling requests or any other issues regarding clinic schedules, OR/Ambulatory Surgery Center schedules, back up for the Clinic Managers to review and processing of cash control collections, transactions and documents, and the creation and editing of clinic templates for all the providers when needed. You will work with the Surgery Scheduling Unit Manager, Clinic Manager, Clinical Director and Chiefs, Perioperative Management team to manage and supervise the surgery scheduling functions and block time utilization, including coordination of operational issues, clinical services, budget, supplies, and human resources matters. Assist with establishing a discipline specific infrastructure within UCLA Health to include recruitment of physicians and staff to support the assigned ambulatory and community practices. You will oversee the clinical operations in the clinic including the faculty credentialing requests, accreditation preparation and ensure the clinics meet requirements for compliance, patient satisfaction, patient safety and quality and supervision of staff of staff in accordance with UCLA Health policies and procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will work on achieving organizational objectives through the coordinated achievements of subordinate staff, establish departmental goals and objectives and function with autonomy. You will manage the accountability and stewardship of human, financial, and often physical resources in compliance with departmental and organizational goals and objectives. You will assist with strategic plans for expansion and assist in implementing the strategic plan of UCLA Health and implement business goals and help ensure the financial viability and success of the ambulatory and community practices.

Salary: 105,700-234,500 annual

Qualifications

Required:


  • 5 Years Supervisory/Management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Healthcare operations experience
  • Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations and procedures to define objectives, identify pattern and formulate conclusions
  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and web-based database programs.
  • Knowledge of University's Electronic Medical Record System.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems and proposals in both formal and informal situations
  • Ability to creatively integrate competing demands of a multi-specialty setting into a productive working environment.
  • Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health
  • Working knowledge of University policies and procedures to appropriately manage accounting systems, cashiering, risk management and personnel
  • Previous demonstrated expertise in managing patient services and staffing in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel between department clinics, as needed.



Preferred:



  • Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, or related field
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible managerial experience including financial and budget preparation
