Job Summary

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new revenue by proactively identifying, engaging, and securing new clients while expanding opportunities within existing accounts. This remote, high-activity role focuses on selling comprehensive low-voltage systems and services, including structured cabling, security and camera systems, access control, fire alarm systems, audio/video solutions, and intercom technologies. The position requires strong prospecting skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships that support profitable project growth across commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and government sectors.

Job Responsibilities




  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, and relationship building.



  • Conduct virtual presentations, demonstrations, and consultations to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate low-voltage solutions.



  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across assigned markets.



  • Prepare and deliver accurate proposals, estimates, and project scopes.



  • Collaborate with internal teams to support solution design, pricing, and project planning.



  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution.



  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of activities, pipeline status, and customer interactions.



  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets and activity metrics.



  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings.




Job Requirements




  • Minimum of five years of experience in outside sales, business development, or technical solutions selling.



  • Knowledge of low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, security/camera systems, access control, fire alarm, audio/video, and intercom solutions.



  • Familiarity with industry products and manufacturers such as Belden and Panduit.



  • Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills.



  • Ability to manage a high-volume prospecting schedule and maintain a disciplined sales pipeline.



  • Proficiency with virtual meeting tools and CRM platforms.



  • Self-motivated, goal-driven, and comfortable working in a remote environment.



  • Valid driver's license may be required for occasional customer visits if applicable.




Education




  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelors degree in a related field preferred.




Work Experience




  • Five years of experience in sales roles involving technical, electrical, security, or low-voltage solutions preferred.




Additional Job Details




  • Fully remote position with potential travel for customer meetings or project assessments as needed.



  • Reliable internet connection and a professional home workspace are required.
