The Cardiopulmonary Business unit has a unique portfolio of leading cardiopulmonary products that are used to treat millions of patients worldwide. Through a complete range of cardiopulmonary equipment and disposables led by the worlds #1 heart lung machine, LivaNova has been offering customer centric integrated perfusion solutions for decades. We are taking the next step in our commitment to innovation and development of perfusion practice with the launch of the completely redesigned Essenz Perfusion system. The Essenz Perfusion System is built on a 50-year legacy of trusted partnerships with perfusionists. It is designed to meet evolving standards of safety and reliability to deliver lifesaving care to patients.

The Professional Education Manager is responsible for identifying educational needs among healthcare professionals (HCPs) and designing compliant, impactful training experiences that support the safe and effective use of LivaNova's products and therapies in the cardiopulmonary space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Needs Assessment & Program Design - identify customer and HCP learning needs and design, propose, and execute targeted educational experiences. Ensure the right education is delivered to the right audience at the right time.

  • Curriculum Development - develop and standardize training curricula to support HCP proficiency in product use, reduce time to mastery, and encourage clinical adoption.

  • Program Development & Governance - collaborate with Marketing & Clinical (when needed) to create a catalog of educational offerings that align with both commercial and educational goals. Emphasize peer-to-peer and advanced education programs, ensuring proper governance and compliance for all programs.

  • Product Training- collaborates with regional and global peers to design programs for required training for users of new products and technologies.

  • Speaker/KOL Management - support marketing as needed in targeting and development of key opinion leaders to deliver educational content. Ensure speakers are contracted, trained, prepared, compliant, and capable of delivering an accurate and engaging educational event.

  • Partnership Management- Creates partnership programs with groups such as contract perfusion groups and industry associations.

  • Program Execution -oversee all speaker program logistics, in collaboration with Marketing Communication, including planning and execution of live and virtual events (scheduling, venues, materials, etc.).

  • Perfusion School Education - cultivate relationships with academic institutions to foster partnerships and enhance program & content credibility

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategic Alignment - work closely with Marketing, Sales leadership and medical affairs to translate HCP learning needs into actionable training solutions. Drive alignment across Commercial, Marketing, and Sales teams

  • Budget & Resource Management - plan and manage allocated budget, ensuring allocation deliver high-quality programs within target financial ranges.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting - identify and report key performance indicators (KPIs), program trends, and educational opportunities to leadership. Analyze program performance metrics, attendee engagement, and program outcomes in order to provide strategic recommendations and optimize program impact.

  • Comprehensive Education Experience - design holistic education journeys using a variety of formats, including simulations, labs, observation, and peer-to-peer engagements.

  • Compliance & Governance - ensure all programs adhere to legal, regulatory, and LivaNova compliance standards, including event reconciliation and proper program close-out.

  • Communication & Continuous Improvement - execute a customer engagement plan to ensure an understanding of HCP educational needs and gather feedback for continuous program improvement. Proactively communicate business challenges or opportunities to leadership.

  • Takes ownership of additional tasks and initiatives as needed.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Education or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical education, professional education, marketing, or related roles within the medical device or pharmaceutical industries.

  • Demonstrated success in healthcare industry sales, marketing, or education, preferably within Medical Device or Technology

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to lead multiple programs simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders and influencing teammates.

  • Demonstrates strong initiative and effective problem-solving skills, consistently responding swiftly and decisively to challenges.

  • Ability to cultivate relationships with healthcare professionals and communicate effectively at different levels within healthcare organizations.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences, as well as collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders required

  • Strong understanding of instructional design, adult learning principles and experience building curriculum for healthcare providers

  • Proficiency and effectiveness in designing effective distance learning solutions that align with instructional goals and learner needs.

  • Knowledge and experience in regulated environments require legal and compliance requirements for HCP interactions & contracting.

  • Applies strong leadership and communication skills to effectively facilitate virtual meetings and deliver engaging, customer-focused events.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results and create processes designed to enhance operational efficiencies of the Professional Education team.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of medical devices, extracorporeal cardiac procedures, ECMO and clinical applications.

  • MBA or certification in an educational or training-related field/program

  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to speaker programs.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

  • Experience in speaker or KOL interaction/management within respective field

  • Experience in surgical simulation and innovative training modalities

Pay Transparency: A reasonable estimate of the annual base salary for this position is $110,000 - $165,000 + discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location.
