BHCOR-Radiology Diagnostic I Corbin, KY

Mammography Offers screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, diagnostic breast ultrasound, and a variety of breast biopsies.

Operates digital mammography equipment to include screening and diagnostic mammogram images, needle localization, galactogram, of the breast as requested by a radiologist. In addition, perform bone density exams. Practice technical expertise in operating mammography equipment, ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures, and collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic images. Adhere to all safety protocols, maintain equipment functionality, and uphold patient confidentiality and dignity at all times.

Job Description:

Mammography Tech-PRN

Clinical Duties

  • Perform mammography and Dexa imaging according to established protocols.

  • Correctly position patients for all imaging procedures.

  • Operate and adjust mammography equipment for accurate, high-quality images.

  • Ensure radiation safety and provide supportive, professional patient care.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating mammography appointments.

  • Give clear instructions and address patient questions or concerns.

  • Work with radiologists and healthcare staff to review images.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Training & Development

  • Stay current with advances in mammography technology and procedures.

  • Train and orient new staff members.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Follow ACR quality control standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.

  • Perform regular equipment maintenance and quality checks.

Safety / Policy & Procedures

  • Follow all hospital policies, safety guidelines, and dress code requirements.

  • Attend required safety, emergency preparedness, and infection control trainings.

  • Participate in fire drills and disaster preparedness activities.

Requirements:

Current American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Registry in Radiography RT(R)

Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.

Must have or obtain BLS during first week of new hire orientation
