Requisition Summary

The Capital Budget Coordinator is responsible for idealizing projects that exceed $30k, identifying Return On Investment (ROI) opportunities, and petitioning for funding from PACCAR Corporate. You will work with many levels of management and team members across the organization to manage the execution of these projects by the established timeline and budget.

The Capital Budget Coordinator will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, coordinate with the Division Capital Budget Coordinator, engage with Project Managers and Manufacturing Engineers, as well as collaborate with the Accounting department.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Create, submit, track, and close capital projects in the Capital Budget System with the support of Project Managers and Manufacturing Engineers
  • Assist in creating and maintaining the 5-year strategic plan for KW Renton, working closely with the ME Manager and leadership
  • Generate capital projects for the coming year's annual requests as well as requests for current year's available budgets
  • Work with Project Managers to define the Business Case and Return On Investment (ROI) of proposed projects to justify funding to be awarded
  • Maintain running capital and expense budget tracking for each project
  • Work with Accounting for monthly invoice reconciliation and monthly CBSR month end summaries
  • Create memos for initial funding, contingency funding, give back funding, date extensions, etc.
  • Coordinate carryover funding requests
  • Perform report generation, data entry, meeting scheduling and coordination
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, accounting, or other related major
  • 0-1+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or accounting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and take initiative
  • Technical writing skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% annually, occasionally on short notice
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

Preferred

  • Project Management education background
  • Training in Six Sigma DMAIC, DFSS, and Advanced Quality Systems
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in heavy truck assembly equipment and processes
  • Software knowledge with PACCAR EEA capital budget system, training document creation, and SAP
