Description and Requirements
Position Summary

This role leads the Engineering team to ensure robust process capability, operational efficiency, and world-class product quality. The position provides strategic leadership across multi-disciplinary engineering teams, driving innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement to support business growth and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee cross-functional engineering projects involving research, product development, and process optimization.

  • Define and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives and emerging technologies.

  • Provide expert guidance on design concepts, specifications, and manufacturing techniques to enhance efficiency and product performance.

  • Design and improve manufacturing processes, production layouts, and material flow for optimal productivity.

  • Develop sequences of operations and procedures for tooling and equipment fabrication, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Incorporate inspection and testing requirements into production plans; monitor equipment performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.

  • Drive site-wide operational efficiency improvements in partnership with production, engineering, finance, and design teams.

  • Lead associate-driven continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing methodologies.

  • Develop and implement statistical process control (SPC) techniques to improve process reliability and product quality.

  • Manage complex, high-impact engineering projects, including developing capital expenditure business cases.

  • Optimize departmental resources, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful project execution.

  • Prepare technical reports, analyses, and documentation supporting key results and process enhancements.

  • Provide full management leadership for one or more engineering departments, including hiring, training, coaching, and career development.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.

  • Communicate and negotiate effectively with senior management, vendors, customers, and cross-functional partners.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 8+ experience in industrial, manufacturing, or process engineering within high-volume production environments.

  • Demonstrated success managing engineering or technical teams in a manufacturing or operations setting.

  • Strong expertise in manufacturing process design, lean methodologies, and continuous improvement tools (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma, VSM).

  • Hands-on experience with process optimization, statistical analysis, and SPC techniques.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional influencing skills.

  • Experience managing budgets, resources, and complex project portfolios.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field.

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification.

  • Experience in consumer electronics, PC hardware, automotive, or similarly complex manufacturing industries.

  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0, automation, smart manufacturing, and advanced production technologies.

  • Proven success implementing large-scale process transformations or system integrations.

  • Experience working within global engineering organizations or multi-site manufacturing operations.

  • Strong financial acumen related to capital planning, ROI modeling, and business case development.
