HJF is seeking a Data Analyst II to provide analytic support to epidemiologists, biostatisticians and scientists and ensure data quality and data integrity.

This position will be in support of Department of Surgery - Battlefield Shock and Organ Support. The incumbent will have a primary focus in developing waveforms and research techniques and/or tools to analyze and then aid in understanding biological data. Responsibilities and skills required involve computer programming, calculating statistics related to biological information, and mathematics.

  • Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines, statistical models, and analytical tools to process complex physiological, clinical, and simulation datasets.
  • Applies advanced analytics-including Bayesian inference, MCMC methods, signal processing, and dimensionality-reduction techniques-to extract insights, quantify uncertainty, and strengthen experimental and study design.
  • Builds custom software solutions and computational frameworks for data cleaning, hardware-integrated data acquisition, workflow automation, and large-scale simulation generation.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to design experiments, evaluate outcomes, and translate quantitative findings into actionable scientific and operational recommendations.
  • Produces technical reports, data visualizations, and peer-reviewed publications with rigorous documentation and clear communication of analytical methods and results.


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree required.

    • Preferred Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience required.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Demonstrated expertise in Python and scientific computing libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, scikit-learn, PyMC, etc.).
  • Experience with Bayesian inference, MCMC methods, statistical modeling, and signal processing.
  • Proven ability to develop robust data pipelines and computational tools for large-scale or complex datasets.
  • Experience designing or analyzing experimental studies (clinical, engineering, or physical sciences).
  • Strong record of scientific communication, including publications or conference presentations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 public trust investigation.


Physical Capabilities



  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods


Work Environment



  • Set in a remote office environment.


Compensation



  • The annual salary range for this position is $64,200-$100,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
