Description

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Trident's global operations produce finished wild Alaska seafood products in 6 countries and its sales teams serve customers in over 50 countries. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.

Summary:The Commercial Finance Manager will report directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for the Trident USA business unit. Trident USA is the North America CPG business for Trident Seafoods, the largest vertically integrated seafood company in the US. The position is located at our Seattle Support Center and will have primary responsibility for daily activities in support of our pricing and bidding process, serving as a key finance business partner for sales leaders and the category and product management team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate past success as a finance business partner, including knowledge of their business, project management skills, and a strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain practices. The role will require cross-functional collaboration with the supply chain finance, plant operations, logistics, procurement, sales, and category/product management teams, as well as ability to present financial recommendations to business unit leadership.

Financial Leadership of Price Analysis and Bidding Process:

  • Manage and develop a team of 3 analysts in support of pricing analysis and bidding for new and existing business.
  • Functions in project management capacity to ensure all required financial information for bids is provided on time.
  • Works closely with Director of Supply Chain Finance and Value-Added Plant Controllers to review cost assumptions and understand scrap and labor variances to set accurate margin expectations for bids and pricing analysis.
  • Collaborates with sales leaders and category management team to increase likelihood of bid success by understanding competitive market pricing and customer specific requirements.
  • Aligns daily price analysis and bidding activities with annual and long-term commercial growth targets.

Financial Planning:

  • Supports Director of FP&A in development of rolling monthly forecast and annual operating plan.
  • Supports VP of Finance in development of 5-year strategic commercial growth plan.

Financial Analysis and Insights:

  • Supports Director of FP&A in preparing monthly business review materials.
  • Supports Director of FP&A and works with Director of Supply Chain Finance to identify and analyze drivers of Cost of Goods Sold variances.
  • Provides financial support for supply chain optimization initiatives and remains aware of capital investments related to achievement of annual and long-term revenue and margin targets.

This is a an exempt position with an annualized salaryrange of $100,000 to $150,000.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive finance experience, including financial planning and analysis and manufacturing cost accounting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a CPG food manufacturing business, including forecasting, budgeting, and modeling of revenue and costs.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience Strong Microsoft Excel modeling and financial analysis skills, including unit economics and volume, mix, rate analysis.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • MBA or an advanced certification (CPA, CMA, etc).
  • Knowledge of the seafood industry.
  • Experience working with Power BI and in an ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.

Physical/Mental demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequently required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee will occasionally stand, walk, and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision for frequent use of a computer.
