The Principal Solutions Architect is a Senior leadership role at Enbridge, responsible for driving solution architecture, digital and application innovation, and being a liaison with digital COEs and Enterprise architecture for the Utility business.

This position leads a dynamic team in Enbridge Gas Distribution to develop and deliver end-to-end design and business solutions, enabling integration and transformation across the Utility landscape. Our Gas Distribution Business Unit serves over 7 million users in North America.

The role is pivotal in simplifying applications, enhancing Business to Consumer (B2C) experience, technical asset reusability, and fostering innovation to support business capability and operational excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Lead practical end-to-end business solutions across Utility processes and systems (e.g., Meter to Cash, Asset Management, Engineering Applications, Storage & Transmission Operations, Energy Services).

  • Be a dynamic leader in all aspects of solution delivery, including financial alignment, front end and mobile apps, vendor selection, and managing competing interests across projects.

  • Partner with Utility Enablement and Business Relationship Managers to create future business capability roadmaps, supporting the amalgamation of legacy utilities into a unified application landscape.

  • Lead and mentor a team of business and technology solution architects, fostering collaboration, technical quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with vendors, leading RFPs to assess products, delivery approaches, and drive consensus on solution direction.

  • Ensure all solutions align with enterprise architecture guidelines, including data privacy, security, integration, and infrastructure standards.

Who You Are

  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in IT portfolio/program management, solution development, and business transformation.

  • Advanced university degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Engineering, MBA) or equivalent experience.

  • Expert understanding of solution architecture within the Utility business application landscape.

  • Strong communicator with an ability to facilitate engaging presentations to senior leadership and a variety of technical stakeholders.

  • Experienced in Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, with a strategic business perspective and organizational change management skills.

  • Proven leadership in developing talent, mentoring teams, and resolving complex technical and business issues.

Working Conditions:

Office environment with travel requirements. Preference to be located in North Carolina. Frequent collaboration with teams in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, and Houston. The role is highly visible and involves managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Salary Range - $135K to $195K plus 4 weeks' vacation, 12 paid holidays, 401K, pension and other perks.
