Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Director Marketing and Communications for University Brand, Marketing, & Creative Services.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Plays an important role in advancing the university's brand.
- Plans, develops, and executes compelling marketing and communications content, projects, and programs.
- Manages the creative project lifecycle, collaborating with internal design and photography staff and identifying and managing external vendor engagements.
- Bolsters brand awareness and communications excellence by contributing to resources (tool kits, guides, training) that help empower a network of university communicators.
- Plays a valuable role in ensuring the department's work is of high quality and free of errors by proofreading and copy-editing content in accordance with brand standards and style guides and verifying data and facts to ensure information is accurate and appropriate for intended audiences.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English, or related field and at least five (5) years of experience in creating communications and marketing projects and content across multiple platforms; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

- A valid driver's license would be required for this position.

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; must be able to demonstrate copy editing and proofreading skills. Knowledge of Chicago Manual and AP style required.

- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be diplomatic, tactful, and exhibit confidentiality.
- Must be a critical thinker and creative problem solver. Must be able to work autonomously and as a team member and team leader.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply.
