While reporting to the Syneos Health VP of Field Sales and dotted line into client Leadership, the National Business Director will lead the hiring and execution of the field commercial strategy in partnership with client Sales Leadership. The NBD will be the primary contact for all matters related to the product promotion and the field team while providing leadership, coaching, management, financial and operations oversight in partnership with commercial peers and leadership while driving sales execution. This role will be the primary contact for the client and the NBD will engage Syneos Health services and functional areas to deliver client solutions. The NBD will adhere to all industry and corporate policies & procedures.

Key Job Responsibilities:

(Duties may include, but are not limited to the following)

  • Function as the primary liaison between client and internal Syneos Health operational elements.
  • Responsible for overall P&L of the Project
  • Ensure contracted services, information flow and all other deliverables are completed on time.
  • Develop/execute national sales strategy to achieve, brand goals & product success
  • Monitor sales trends, account performance, competitive landscape and market dynamics to identify growth opportunities and challenges
  • Ensure compliant execution on deliverables, aligning with brand on program goals, and seeking to maximize program efficiency
  • Oversee the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and staffing of the management, sales and engagement center sales team.
  • Minimize turnover through selection process and ongoing leadership actions.
  • Establish performance expectations and oversee activity of direct reports within field management and Client Services structure, including adherence to policies.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with external experts.
  • Foster an environment that rewards accomplishment and encourages the advancement and retention of productive employees.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Life Sciences, (Master's preferred)
  • 20+ years of commercial pharmaceutical experience
  • 7+ years in leading national or regional teams/2nd line leader experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in the psychiatric pharmaceutical sector is preferred
  • Demonstrated track record in leadership, management and operational oversight with a strong product launch background
  • Analytical in nature, metric driven, with a strong ability to develop sales strategy and ensure effective tactical execution
  • Excellent organizational skills, especially in project planning, project implementation, and cross-functional team management
  • Ability to hire, lead, coach, and mentor high performing teams
  • Diverse Commercial experience in Training, Marketing, Sales Ops, Market Access, IC preferred
  • Strong technical and analytical skills working with various tools and solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong understanding of account management and sales operational functions.
