To succeed as a Financial Reporting & Accounting Manager, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or technical accounting certification preferred.
  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, or similar industries with hands-on financial reporting and accounting expertise.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Power BI), and technical understanding of US GAAP/IFRS.
  • Proven ability to manage audits, financial reporting, and process improvements while supporting cross-functional business decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptability in fast-paced environments, and ability to qualify for a TWIC card for on-site refinery access.

 

As a Financial Reporting & Accounting Manager, you will:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze internal and external financial statements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP/IFRS and company policies.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance, monitor changes in standards, and ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, maintain robust internal controls, and manage finance incident responses.
  • Lead or participate in finance projects, including process improvements, system upgrades, and ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany transactions, and month-/year-end close activities.

PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas that operates across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crude oil, producing high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd-party chemical facilities, enabling further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products.
