Job Summary

We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Quality Engineer to help bring an exciting new product to life. In this role, you'll make sure everything meets the highest quality standards from concept to production. You'll focus on key aerospace processes likeAdvanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and First Article Inspection (FAI) to ensure compliance with industry standards (AS9145 and AS9102).

Job Responsibilities

Quality Planning & Risk Management:
- Lead APQP activities and create key quality documents (Quality Plans, Control Plans, Process Flows, PFMEAs) in line with AS9145.
- Manage PPAP submissions and perform risk assessments to prevent issues during design and development.


Design & Development Support:
- Participate in design reviews and ensure quality requirements are built in early.
- Plan and execute FAI per AS9102, and support process validation and capability studies.


Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records for APQP/PPAP, FAI, audits, and corrective actions.
-Prepare and share quality metrics, risk assessments, and improvement plans with stakeholders.


Corrective Action Leadership:
- Lead root cause analysis using tools like 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone to resolve issues.
- Ensure timely corrective actions and communicate results to internal teams and customers.


Auditing & Compliance:
- Conduct internal audits and support external/customer audits to meet aerospace standards.
- Identify gaps and drive corrective actions to improve compliance and audit outcomes.


Nonconformance & Delivery Oversight:
- Disposition nonconforming products and coordinate approvals with customers/government reps.
- Ensure all quality documentation is complete before product shipment.


Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze quality data and customer feedback to spot trends and prevent future issues.
- Lead initiatives to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor's preferred)
  • 3+ years in quality engineering, ideally aerospace or regulated industry.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP (AS9145), and FAI (AS9102), plus ability to read engineering drawings with GD&T.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (AS9100, ISO 9001) and quality tools like FMEA, SPC, MSA, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office), communication, and project management abilities.
  • Available to work off-shift hours as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance requirements, with ability to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance if needed.

Compensation Data

Compensation Range: $91,083.00 - $113,853.00
