Reingold's Internship Program A Reingold intern has high standards and a fearless mindset. This internship program is your opportunity to discover what it really means to work for a full-service communications agency. You'll learn the ins and outs of your department, work as a valued member of project teams, and collaborate with experts in various departments. Reingold offers you opportunities to tailor the internship experience to your interests and strengths - all while working on causes that really matter. Internships are full-time (40 hours) during the standard workweek and pay an hourly rate of $20. The internship class begins on Thursday, January 8, and runs through Friday, May 22. Core hours during the internship are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. This internship requires five in-office days (Monday - Friday) at our office in Alexandria, Virginia. As an AI Innovation Intern, you'll be a hands-on contributor from day one-jumping into projects that challenge you to identify opportunities, build fresh tools, and bring bold ideas to life. You'll help develop and test new AI-powered workflows, automations, and products that enhance how Reingold operates and delivers for clients. Whether it's data analysis, natural language processing, workflow automation, or content generation, you'll help push boundaries through rapid experimentation and practical development. This is the role for someone who's scrappy, resourceful, and ready to turn curiosity into impact. At Reingold, you'll collaborate across teams, learn from experienced mentors, and have the space to try, fail, improve, and succeed. Intern responsibilities may include: Experimenting with agent-building frameworks (e.g., n8n, LangChain) and APIs from platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, and vector databases. Exploring and evaluating tools such as Glean, Microsoft Copilot, and other emerging AI assistants. Testing and benchmarking new AI technologies in real Reingold workflows to assess performance and impact. Collaborating with strategists, marketers, and tech teams to identify problems and brainstorm AI solutions. Designing and refining internal tools and automations to enhance operations or analysis. Building and testing reusable AI components (embeddings, retrievers, agents) for projects across teams. Integrating and transforming data from various sources to support robust AI workflows. Running experiments on AI workflow reliability, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. Documenting results, identifying opportunities for improvement, and sharing insights with the team. Creating clear documentation and user guides for prototypes and tools. Sharing learnings and best practices with the broader Reingold community. Participating in hands-on learning, troubleshooting, and iterative development throughout all projects. Your duties, responsibilities and activities will flex in relation to Reingold's AI priorities and technical advancements. We're looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills: Hands-on experience building AI or automation projects - through professional work, coursework, or self-directed experiments. Demonstrated problem-solving skills; you can take a vague goal and figure out how to build something that works. Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills, especially when explaining technical work to non-technical teammates. Willingness to debug, test, and optimize AI workflows for cost, latency, and reliability. Deep interest in how emerging AI tools work, eagerness to explore new frameworks or APIs. You're the type who experiments just to see what's possible. Bonus points for: A bias toward action; you like to build, test, learn, and iterate. Experience deploying small applications or tools. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or serverless AI services. Experience with prompt engineering and evaluating generative model performance. Exposure to automation frameworks (e.g., N8N, Zapier, Make, or API-based integrations). Work environment and physical requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
