We have an exciting opening for a 2nd shift Assembler I in Forest City, NC. This position is responsible for assembling valves according to detailed plans, blueprints, and drawings. This position requires continuous inspection during the assembly process to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. The Assembler I will utilize various hand tools, gauges, and power torque instruments while collaborating with engineering and sales teams on prototype assembly as needed. The role also involves training new team members and assisting testers in troubleshooting and repairs.

Your main responsibilities

  • Assembly Tasks:
    • Assemble valves according to plans, blueprints, and drawings, ensuring adherence to specifications.
    • Continuously inspect components during the assembly process to maintain quality standards.
    • Use hand tools, gauges, drills, arbor presses, and power torque instruments effectively.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work with engineering and sales teams on prototype assembly projects as required.
    • Assist testers in troubleshooting issues related to assembly and testing processes.
  • Repair and Maintenance:
    • Repair various parts and sub-assemblies, including handling customer returns.
    • Bag and label finished assemblies, ensuring proper documentation and transportation to the shipping area.
  • Planning and Organization:
    • Plan the assembly of valves requiring multiple components in advance, utilizing pick lists, schematics, CRT, and blueprints.
    • Perform some electrical assembly tasks as needed.
  • Additional Tasks:
    • Make rods, conduct air tests, flat sand, and solder as required for assembly processes.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and products at all times.
  • Quality and Productivity:
    • Uphold the highest standards of customer service, quality, quantity, cost reduction, and productivity in all tasks.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

We are looking for a talent with

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in assembly, preferably in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to train others and share knowledge.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to [25 lbs.] and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
