The Challenge

In joining Adobe's Worldwide Digital Media Finance organization, you will have the opportunity to serve as a Sr. Data Scientist embedded in our FP&A team within the largest business unit at Adobe ($17.5B Revenue). This unique opportunity is focused on uncovering insights surrounding the complex relationships between our bookings, billings, and revenue data in order to inform decision making and key financial metric forecasting.

The ideal candidate for this role has strong technical skills (SQL, Python, experience with big data projects using cloud-based data platforms), but also has a proven track record of partnering with accounting, finance systems, FP&A, and other auxiliary teams. We're looking for somebody who can partner effectively code efficiently, and present methodologies and results to anybody from analysts up through SVPs. You will work with people and teams both local and remote in a matrixed organization.

  • Pull contract, customer, and event level data to surface relationships between bookings, billings, and revenue data. Eventually the Sr. Data Scientist will be tasked with supporting decisions that impact relationships between the above as well as develop and run a new forecasting paradigm using the above insights.
  • Work with accounting, finance, FP&A, and auxiliary teams to acquire project information and gain organization-wide support.
  • Present proposed methodologies and results to finance partners at various levels - analyst through SVP
  • Create or collaborate on dashboards surfacing the above insights
  • Serve as mentor to junior data scientists/analysts
  • Upon successful completion of the above, opportunity to expand to other areas
Knowledge & Skills
  • Deep experience in applying big data and data science techniques to traditional FP&A problems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Candidate can cut to the heart of and articulate issues, scope and select recommended solutions, and implement them with minimal guidance
  • Strong communication skills. Candidate can clearly, succinctly, and constructively communicate with partners to achieve our organization's many goals.
  • Exceptional presentation skills - can explain complex modelling methodologies and processes to non-technical audiences appropriately tailor messaging to background and level of audience
  • Evangelist: Excited to apply data science techniques to traditional FP&A problems and grow their responsibilities over time as well as mentor other members of the organization
  • Familiar with common financial concepts like ARR
  • Intermediate/Advance Python programming skills
  • Familiarity with data pipelining, within a cloud framework (e.g. Databricks, GCP, Azure) preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $128,600 -- $234,200 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
