The Phlebotomist performs venipuncture and capillary puncture on adults, neonates, and pediatric patients; collects urine specimens; participates in the instruction of new personnel; works with computers; processes lab specimens, communicates in a manner that promotes Laboratory professionalism as well as a comfortable phlebotomy.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM- 5 PM

Location: Onsite - 2 W Fern Ave, Redlands, CA 92373

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collect and process laboratory specimens submitted by patients

  • Obtain blood specimens by skin puncture, venipuncture

  • Follow all laboratory procedures and protocols

  • Perform point of care testing

  • Accurately enter patient information and tests into the computer and accurately label specimens after the patient is drawn but before patient leaves

  • Deliver specimens to analytical area

  • Observe all safety measures at all times

  • Consistently arrive to work on time, limiting call-offs as much as possible

  • Dispose of medical waste appropriately according to county and state regulations

  • Work as a team member within the laboratory department, and with all other Polyclinic departments

  • Help train new employees and students as requested by Supervisor

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)

  • Active and unrestricted CPT I or CPT II certification

  • 1+ years of customer service experience

  • Ability to work full 8 hour shift

  • Ability to stand for several hours, bending over, and lifting 5-8 pounds

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to collect specimens while maintaining accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of phlebotomy experience

  • 1+ years of specimen collection experience

  • 6+ months of specimen processing experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
