Overview

Would you like to gain valuable hands-on work experience in the exciting field of microwave communication? Cobham has an exciting entry level position for a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. The Product Engineering Specialist will work within a team of professionals in developing, producing and improving microwave communication hardware at our San Jose, CA facility.

The Production Engineering Specialist position will work with the engineering staff to test and troubleshooting hardware. They may develop test specifications, methods and modify diagrams, procedures and rework instructions on hardware. They may also prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommend solutions to technical problems. This hands-on work will provide valuable experience for a future design engineer, product engineer or program manager.


Responsibilities

  • Work with production staff to perform and document testing of microwave hardware
  • Perform and document tuning and test results on multi-function thin film microwave integrated circuits (MICs)
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineers, as part of a product team, providing feedback on modules and subsystem products
  • Perform set-up and calibration of the automated test station

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proficient written and verbal skills.

Hourly Range: $34.00 - $38.00. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base bay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. CAES provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, 401K, paid holidays and vacation.
