How You'll Perform the Role

The National Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with our national medical-surgical distributors, healthcare group purchasing organizations (GPO's), and integrated delivery networks (IDN's). The ideal candidate has demonstrated successful selling to large volume strategic distributors and GPO's in Broadline and National Distribution. The candidate will work remotely and travel to customer accounts, trade shows, and industry events as necessary.

DESCRIPTION:



  • Responsible for driving sales growth, contract compliance, and market share expansion within the healthcare/medical surgical channel.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans for each assigned national account.
  • Negotiate annual agreements and strategies for Med-Surg distribution partners (e.g. Cardinal Health, Medline, Owens & Minor) with the intent to maximize sales opportunities while attaining EBITDA objectives.
  • Maintain relationships with key healthcare GPO's to maximize contract utilization and compliance
  • Expand and develop relationships within hospitals to include environmental services (EVS), dietary/foodservice, materials management, and sustainability teams.
  • Identify and drive opportunities within IDN's to expand adoption, product placement, and category penetration.
  • Partner with other Novolex National Account Managers to align distributor initiatives and support distribution healthcare sales teams.
  • Partner with Novolex, distribution, and GPO's field sales teams to support local IDN engagement and contract compliance pull through.
  • Coordinate with internal pricing and finance teams to maintain competitive and profitable national pricing strategies.
  • Utilize market data and customer reporting to uncover white space opportunities for additional Novolex categories.
  • Support the development of sales tools, training materials, and presentations tailored to the distribution and GPO channels to help expand the education of this channel throughout the organization.
  • Escalate quality or service issues within the organization for efficient resolution.
  • Provide weekly sales updates and activity to management


What We Need From You

  • BS/BA degree preferred plus a minimum of 3-5 years' experience selling multi-unit operators, GPO's, and distribution.
  • Individual with a strong history for developing sales growth plans and meeting or exceeding those plans.
  • Superior negotiating, organizational, and selling skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Strategic thought leader who can keep a large number of projects going concurrently
  • Results oriented with a track record of exceeding goals
  • Ability to manage all aspects of supplier relationship management
  • Ability to build strong relationships with distributors and close sales
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage complex contracts and drive compliance and pull through opportunities
  • Proven ability to hunt, grow and maintain relationships.
  • Demonstrated project management skills along with strong verbal, presentation and negotiation abilities.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
