The successful candidate:
***This is a 3 12's role- 7AM-7PM. Inpatient Acute Care experience needed.***
The Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive medical care to patients in a dynamic, acuity-adaptable inpatient unit. This unit supports patients across all levels of care-from medical-surgical to ICU-
level acuity-allowing seamless transitions without relocation. The PA collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Rapid assessment of critically ill patients
Interpretation of hemodynamic data (e.g., CVP, MAP, cardiac output)
Neurological assessments (e.g., GCS, stroke scales)
Ventilator management and weaning protocols
Management of sepsis and septic shock
Acute pain and sedation management
Fluid resuscitation and electrolyte correction
Management of multi-organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS)
Central venous catheter insertion (internal jugular, subclavian, femoral)
Arterial line placement
Endotracheal intubation and airway management
Chest tube insertion and management
Thoracentesis and paracentesis
Lumbar puncture
Ultrasound-guided procedures (vascular access, FAST exam)
Needle decompression for tension pneumothorax
Intraosseous access
Bedside tracheostomy assistance
Minimum Education:
Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Req. Certification/Licensure:
Current PA licensure in Arizona, Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), BLS, ACLS,
