Part of Dover Corporation's Engineered Systems segment, Vehicle Service Group (VSG) is a strong, diverse and dynamic global leader in the vehicle service industry. VSG comprises 13 major vehicle lifting, wheel service, diagnostic and collision repair brands: Rotary Lift, Chief, Forward, Direct-Lift, Ravaglioli, Hanmecson, Revolution, Elektron, Blitz, Nogra, Butler, Space and Sirio.

SUMMARY:Maintain and assist in building tooling and fixtures, support capital and manufacturing projects in conformance with customer expectations. Ability to work independently, manage small projects and meet deadlines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  1. Observe and maintain all safety requirements.

  1. Read micrometers, gages and other precision instruments.

  1. Assist in the Plan, layout and build tooling and projects from prints and/or instructions.

  1. Repair,sharpen and maintaindies, punchunits and templates.

  1. Repair and maintain weld/CNC fixtures

  1. Support capital, manufacturing and safety projects

  1. Operate some machines required for projects and fixtures (to include but not limited to mig welder, lathe, knee mill, CNC mill, surface grinder, press brake, saw, laser and drill press).

  1. Ethics & Work Standards: Maintain the highest ethical and work standards, while promoting the same attributes in co-workers and others. Insure that all business activities - with both internal and external customers - be performed with a professional demeanor and that all participants be held accountable to this high standard.

  1. Communication: Expresses thoughts clearly, both orally and in writing, using good grammar. Presents concise, well organized reports. Listens to understand input, feedback and concerns. Provides complete information in an open, honest, and straight-forward manner. Responds promptly and positively to questions and requests.

  1. Teamwork/Relationships: Works with other employees willingly and in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Supports cooperation.   1. Continual Improvement and Problem Resolution: Identifies and communicates suggestions for work improvements. Uses technical/analytical abilities to assure existing work practices are the most efficient and cost effective possible. Performs root-cause analysis and implements viable, permanent solutions to problems. Works with both internal and external customers to develop solutions which meet company-wide needs and objectives. Applies a sense of urgency to resolve problems or create opportunities that will increase productivity and create value. Shares best practices with other employees across the business.

  1. Accountability: Accepts responsibility and accountability for both the strategic planning and the successful implementation of all projects/programs/duties as outlined in this job description. Advises supervisor of concerns, problems and progress of work in a timely manner. Demonstrates a sound balance between quality and quantity of work while maintaining a sense of urgency toward completion. Deadlines are met.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  1. Clean any work tables, machinery or equipment each day as required.

  1. Perform housekeeping duties to maintain equipment and work area in a clean condition and safe working order.

  1. Adhere to and follow environmental policies and procedures.

  1. T.P.M. of dies, punches, and templates

PERSONAL TOOL REQUIREMENTS:

Any and all tools required for the job.

CONTACTS (Internal and External):

Interacts with all levels of Vehicle Service Group personnel by whatever means necessary to secure required procedural changes. Moderate contact with vendors during ordering of new tooling and services.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education:Requires a GED or High School diploma.

Schedule:This is a 1st shift position, but flexibility in schedule may be needed to support manufacturing, capital and project needs.

Experience:5 years machine shop or related field working with sheet metal manufacturing environment.

Supervision:Works under limited supervision. Handles routine matters on own initiative. All questionable matters referred to supervisor.
