Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Location: Franklin, WI
Department: Manufacturing Engineering
Reports To: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer Join API Heat Transfer and help shape the future of thermal technology. We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support our production operations and drive process improvements across our heat exchanger manufacturing lines.
What You'll Do
As a key member of our engineering team, you'll:
- Assist in designing and implementing process improvements to boost efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Troubleshoot and maintain production equipment including fin machines, stackers, welders, and assembly tools.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend solutions.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Support equipment installations, modifications, and validations.
- Document process changes, equipment settings, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to support lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Contribute to quality assurance by identifying root causes of defects and implementing corrective actions.
- Train operators and maintenance staff on new processes and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
What You Bring
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field - or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems, tooling, and industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement is a plus.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in a production environment for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
