Overview

The Financial Analyst will play a key role in driving financial performance and transparency across projects, and the wider organization, by delivering insightful reporting, forecasting, and analysis.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Vice President for Finance, the general scope of the position will include but not be limited to:

  • Reporting and Analytics:
    • Prepare detailed financial project reports
    • Prepare and distribution of periodic reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
    • Variance analysis of schedule and cost
    • SG&A reporting
    • Assist with continued development of benchmarking analytics
    • Conduct detailed analyses and recommend actionable outcomes
  • Month End and Forecasting:
    • Assist with Month End closing and WIP reporting
    • Assist with preparation of monthly financial forecasts and annual budget process
    • Assist with reviews of budget, forecasts and cash flow for individual projects
    • Prepare periodic presentations
  • Other:
    • Project accounting duties such as contract changes & cost distributions
    • Recommend improvements to existing reporting and develop new reporting
    • Assist with internal and external audits

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; MBA, CPA, CMA or equivalent desirable.
  • 3+ years of experience in a project-based or construction environment is highly valued.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
  • When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
  • Set a personal example of safe behavior.
  • Strong understanding of complex project accounting principles
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong presentation preparation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
  • Knowledge of InEight or Vista Software / Oracle systems advantageous
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneous tasks/assignments
  • Team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Management of multiple tasks and deadlines and be able to manage prioritize workload
  • Ability to comprehend complex assignments
  • Other may duties may be assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires prolonged sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

HOURS: Hybrid-schedule from Louisville, CO office. This position is a standard full-time position, with general business 40-hour operating schedule, Monday-Friday.

TRAVEL: 10%
