Summary:

The Director of Medical Education Operations (DMO) is responsible for providing strategic and operational oversight responsibility for administration and development of the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education programs. This role provides leadership in fiscal planning, resource management, and program development to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational experiences across the academic continuum.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads strategic planning and implementation for medical education in alignment with enterprise priorities.
  • Oversees fiscal management, budgeting, and resource optimization for educational programs.
  • In partnership with the Program Manager for Institutional Accreditation, manages contracts and affiliations with academic institutions and external partners.
  • Collaborates with academic and physician leaders to develop and expand educational offerings.
  • Drives cross-departmental initiatives and represents medical education on institutional committees.
  • Implements systems and process improvements to enhance program growth and efficiency.
  • Provides administrative oversight of educational facilities and infrastructure.
  • Supervises and develops medical education staff, ensuring alignment with performance standards and institutional goals.
  • Mentors program managers and coordinators to achieve departmental objectives.

Technical Expertise:

* Experience in progressive academic or healthcare leadership is required.

* Experience partnering with physician educators and academic leaders in a collaborative environment is required.

* Experience with financial management, academic operations, and educational program administration is required.

* Experience with performance improvement and quality strategies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is preferred.

* Experience partnering with all levels within an organization is required.

* Experience in medical education or academic healthcare is preferred.

* Proficiency in MS 365 or similar software is required. Experience with educational management systems and EPIC is preferred.

Education and Experience:

1. Education: Master's degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent) required.

2. Licensure: N/A

3. Certification: None required.

4. Years of Relevant Experience: A minimum of 5 years of academic or healthcare administration experience is required.

5. Years of Supervisory Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience supervising/managing employees and/or teams is required.
