Employment Status Full-Time Career Level Entry Level Job Description Switchcraft is a U.S. manufacturer of connectors, jacks, plugs, molded cable assemblies, patchbays, and switches. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including medical, GPS, process control, transportation, homeland security, broadcast and pro audio. We are conveniently located on the northwest side of Chicago and currently have an opening for a Shipping Clerk. Shift: Monday - Friday 8am -4:30pm Pay: $19/Hour Location: Jefferson Park, Chicago, IL The Shipping Clerk's duties are as follows: Responsible for processing all shipments through our warehousing system Ensure all shipments receive the proper labeling and paperwork Accurately label and weigh items to be shipped and ensure proper shipping methods and routings are being followed Use our system to generate the correct paperwork for each shipment Schedule pickups with the appropriate carriers, either by phone or through their websites Interact daily with Customer Service, other internal departments, and LTL and package carriers Perform other duties as needed Requirements Prior experience with LTL, Fed Ex, and UPS shipments is REQUIRED Experience using a sit-down forklift is preferred Ability to lift heavy packages and use a pallet jack to move pallets Must be comfortable using computers Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital Be flexible to changing needs in the department Benefits Paid Time Off Holidays Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Short Term/Long Term Disability Commuter benefits Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) Health Savings Account (HSA) 401k Referral Program Parental Leave Healthy Rewards EOE M/F/Disabled/Vet This company is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions without regard to race, gender, disability or protected veteran status.
