A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

The Physician Assistant (PA) shall perform medical histories, physical examinations, and reviews of required medical tests and documentation pertaining to consultations and medical histories on applicants for the Armed Forces, in accordance with DoD, USMEPCOM, and accession medical standards.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Physician Assistant: To be determined

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Physician Assistant Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform medical histories, physical examinations, and reviews of required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories on applicants for the Armed Forces.
  • Secure a thorough health history from the applicant and record findings.
  • Arrange (but not perform) medical consultations to include but not limited to orthopedics, psychiatry, ears, nose and throat specialty, dermatology, internal medicine, and dental.
  • Accomplish the specified quantity and quality of work within the schedule and hours allotted herein.
  • Perform records review/consult reviews and results reviews.
  • Abide by DoD, USMEPCOM, and other applicable instructions, regulations, and policies.
  • Apply accession medical standards to determine applicant medical qualifications.
  • Become proficient in the application of accession medical standards to determine suitability of applicants for military service.
  • Provide highest regard to applicant dignity.
  • Abide by and follow IAW Privacy Act and HIPAA.
  • Participate in MEPS local medical peer reviews.
  • Use philosophy known as "Red Carpet Treatment."
  • Comply with all installation policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Physician Assistant Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Master's degree from an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current, unrestricted NCCPA certification and active state/territory PA license.
  • Minimum one (1) year of recent post-graduate clinical experience in direct patient care (within last three years).
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross, hands-on, renewed every two years).
  • Proficient in electronic medical documentation, email, and internet research.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication, time management, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
  • Able to complete Genesis medical documentation training.
  • Experienced in patient assessment, data collection, and mental health screening.
  • Knowledgeable across multiple specialties, including OB/GYN, ENT, pediatrics, orthopedics, internal medicine, and mental health.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
