| Posting Summary |
The successful candidates for this position will engage in supervision, discussion, and individualized feedback, in the dietetics supervised practice program. The supervision will be less than a full semester in an academic year and the candidate will not be a regularly appointed Rutgers employee, per the Coad Casual-99912 description. This position is required to help handle the increased responsibilities that Nutritional Sciences faculty have had to assume Post
COVID. There continues to be a reduced availability of preceptor volunteers resulting in decreased availability of both training sites and preceptors at supervised practice facilities. This impact is multifactorial but greatly due to the lasting impact of the
COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, we have an accredited program which rely on preceptor volunteers for the supervised practice component of the Department of Nutritional Sciences for the newest accredited
SEBS Nutritional Sciences Dietetic Internship program in dietetics. Therefore, Class 8 Coad Faculty will ensure greater uniformity in supervised practice experience quality. An additional benefit of the Class 8 Coad Faculty is that they are active dietetics practitioners who are fully up to date with innovations in the field. We believe this model will be an innovation other programs will emulate. We anticipate hiring one faculty in nutrition specialty area, each teaching for less than a total of one semester/year. Pay will be determined based on student contact hours commensurate with the current part-time lecturer rates.
The candidate will be paid completely from revenue generated from the dietetics supervised practice fees paid by students. |
