The opportunity

The Quality Assurance Engineer reports directly to the Systems Quality Manager. The QA Engineer carries out software tests to make sure products meet business demands and specifications. You will create the end-to-end test plan and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that the goals of the solution are met, and work as expected. You will work with all ITS teams to ensure the solution's functionality and accuracy and performance, usability, reliability, and compatibility with legacy and external systems.

You will work remotely from any of our approved states. #LI-Remote

What You'll Do:

  • Engage with ITS and business to improve the quality assurance practices of projects and products.
  • Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts, and automated scripts.
  • Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
  • Submit, track, and validate defects in bug tracking system.
  • Document and complete test approach, test plans, and scenarios for both manual and automated tests.
  • Ensure reusability and maintenance for all regression test cases.
  • Develop/implement automation scripts for load/performance/stress testing.
  • Develop/implement automation scripts for API testing.
  • Ensure traceability from automation to test assets to requirements.
  • Work with project managers, product owners, business analysts, software architects, developers, and business subject matter experts to assure delivery of a quality project.
  • Participate in defining risk-based test approaches.
  • Participate in standardized processes, guidelines, and templates.
  • Participate in continuous improvements and innovations.
  • Train and onboard new team members.
  • Enforce quality assurance policies.
  • Oversee and conduct UAT with our partners throughout the university.
  • Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential functions of this role.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

  • 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance methodologies and processes.
  • Experience with models of the software development life cycle (SDLC) such as waterfall/Agile/hybrid.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to present project testing status to partners.
  • Experience developing/implementing SQL queries and using Microsoft Azure databases.
  • Experience developing/implementing automation/Load/Performance/Stress testing and associated tools like Selenium API and Provar.
  • Experience with web technologies: Apache, HTTP, IIS, REST, SOAP, and Web Services.
  • Experience using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps, Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C#, JAVA, Perl, Python.
  • Professional experience with development platform systems like Azure, GitHub.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $70,729.00 - $113,188.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $78,155.00 - $105,739.00.
