The Position

Group Communications (GC) is responsible for creating a lasting positive image of Roche and are representing the company's voice on a Group level: We communicate Roche's strategy and how we deliver on our purpose of "Doing now what patients need next" to Roche colleagues and external audiences. We drive integrated and global campaigns and provide platforms for communications business partners as well as our affiliates to engage with audiences.

The Roche Diagnostics Solutions (RDS) business area is responsible for all diagnostics solutions and has end-to-end accountability for their development and delivery. RDS includes four customer areas (Core Lab, Molecular Lab, Pathology Lab and Point of Care/Near Patient Care) and functions such as R&D, Clinical Development & Medical Affairs, Portfolio & Project Management, Marketing & Customer Insights, Global Access & Policy and Global Customer Support. RDS focuses on driving access to care and setting new standards for innovative diagnostics, delivering pioneering testing systems and high medical-value solutions to reduce the burden on healthcare systems and society AND helping people live healthier for longer.

The Opportunity

As the Senior Communications Business Partner, you will play an important role in leading the communications strategy at a cross-portfolio level to drive business performance, enhance organisational culture and strengthen visibility of our commitment to patients. You will have a portfolio remit spanning the Oncology Disease Area, maximising collaboration, flexibility and impact by balancing Customer Area priorities in line with the Roche Diagnostics and Group Communications strategy.

Reporting to the Head of RDS Portfolio Strategy Communications, you will own and execute integrated Oncology communication strategies to inform, engage and inspire internal and external audiences in close collaboration with other members of the RDS Communications team, the RDS Customer Areas, Affiliates and cross-functional colleagues. You must have exceptional communication skills, be a critical systems thinker, and have the capability to foster relationships at all levels.

What you'll be working on:

  • Lead cross-portfolio planning and measurement, with a focus on creating and delivering integrated Oncology communications strategies that inspire, equip, engage and align key audiences. Responsible for the creation, enhancement and communication of RDS communication strategies and solutions through leading external communications, public relations and internal employee communications.

  • Senior-level advisor to the Head of RDS Portfolio Strategy, RDS Customer Area Communication Business Partners and the RDS Leadership Team to ensure impactful, integrated and measurable communications in support of business priorities.

  • Co-create and deliver on Global Communication topics and projects as part of the RDS Communications team. Where applicable, manage external vendors to meet business objectives within defined scope, timeline and budgetary guidelines.

  • Define ways of working, resource allocation and outcome-based planning to build operational efficiency with the broader RDS, Diagnostics and Group Communications' community, as well as cross-functional stakeholders from across the business.

  • Create and implement a measurement framework to help evaluate, measure and report on the effectiveness of our communication activities using innovative tools (e.g. GenAI) to drive consistency and assure best practice communications, including development of digital/social capabilities, based on Global Communications standards.

  • Ensure all company compliance and ethics standards are met; Coach, guide and mentor project teams, communication colleagues or interns and lead through influence.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required in Communications, Journalism or Marketing with a proven track record in creating organisational success through integrated communication efforts.

  • At least 7+ years of related global/regional business experience as in-house corporate communicator, preferably within the Pharma, Diagnostics, Medical Device or Consumer Healthcare industry.

  • Extensive experience leading, developing and executing communications strategies, initiatives and plans within complex, matrixed organisations.

  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to quickly assimilate business needs and circumstances and effectively advise others.

  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a non-hierarchical, self-organising environment, where teams form around projects and initiatives.

  • Proven ability to prioritise multiple projects and works well under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Highly effective at distilling complex and sometimes voluminous content into clear, concise and engaging communications.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated excellence in relationship building, intercultural sensitivity and partnering at all levels.

  • Experience in digital transformation and change management strategies, activities, communications and execution is preferred.

  • Fluency in English required.

This position is based on-site in Indianapolis (or Rotkreuz) and has an on-site requirement. A remote working arrangement is not available.

Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $105,000 to $195,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
