| Position Summary |
This position is part of the Office of the Director Coordination Team (
OOD-CT) at
RENCI and provides high-level administrative, operational, and project coordination support to the Office of the Director (
OOD). The role is critical to ensuring the efficiency, professionalism, and effectiveness of RENCI's leadership and internal operations.
The position supports assigned
OOD leaders by managing day-to-day activities, including meeting and event coordination, calendar management, task tracking, document preparation, travel logistics, and maintaining contact and information systems. The role also assists with advisory board meetings and other organizational events, including scheduling, logistics, and documentation.
Responsibilities include information management and research, compiling data and reports, drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintaining organized collections of materials, resources, and processes. The position also contributes to developing and improving workflows and communication across teams.
In addition, the position provides project coordination and program support for selected internal and external initiatives, helping
RENCI meet its strategic goals. The role involves interpreting and applying university and sponsored research policies, assisting with program communications, and supporting related administrative or budgetary activities.
Success in this role requires initiative, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships across
RENCI and with external partners. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
- Requires acquiring significant knowledge of programs, culture, and structure of the organization; applies knowledge of strategic goals, organizational practices, and critical policies, laws, rules, and regulations that impact the mission of the organization.
- Able to independently resolve and/or develop recommendations for unprecedented issues and problems. Problem resolution requires some interpretation of policy and procedures.
- Able to develop projects/solutions, including coordinating and facilitating solutions with other work units with internal and external organizations and constituents.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Must be able to work on several projects simultaneously, with minimal supervision and frequent interruptions.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Google Workspace. |
| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
- Working knowledge of Concur,
RASR, and other
UNC operational tools
- Requires an understanding of program goals and objectives, and an understanding of the technology tools that will be deployed to realize program objectives.
- Able to serve as a resource for others in resolving unprecedented, non-standard issues and problems.
- Working knowledge of Monday.com (or other similar project management tool).
- Understanding of the educational mission of the university. |
