Under the direction of the Environmental Services Supervisors and Managers, executes Bridgeport Hospital and
Sodexo programs and procedures by training, motivating, and leading staff to ensure all departmental tasks and
responsibilities are met as per schedule and in accordance with facility, regulatory and Sodexo standards and
objectives.

Responsibilities
- 1. Core Responsibilities
1) Perform all environmental services-related tasks demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees client staff, and customers. Role models service excellence behaviors. 2) Lead and motivates staff to ensure that work is performed in a manner consistent with department standards, policies and procedures. 3) Prepares and updates employee schedules. Ensures all open shifts are filled and daily cleaning assignments completed. 4) Possesses a thorough knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, i.e. 7 Step Cleaning, hard surface and carpet floor care, regulatory requirements (JC, DPH, NSF) and ensures employee work processes and results are in compliance. 5) Assures that employees consistently adhere to hospital and department policies and procedures. 6) Submits maintenance requests for repairs noted during environmental rounds. 7) Responds to direct requests from customers as well as those channeled through the Service Response Center. 8) Completes daily shift report. Sends to leadership team daily for review. - 2. Inspections
1) Conducts daily rounds in first impression areas, In-patient units, and other departments as needed. 2) Monitors department inventory by tracking supply usage and advises when inventory levels are low. Places orders in absence of department supervisor or manager. 3) Maintains key control and equipment control logs, ensures that all equipment, storage areas, ES closets and offices are in clean condition and proper working order . - 3. Safety
1) Assure the safety of patients, staff and visitors through enforcement of department safety policies and procedures, to include the proper use of personal protective equipment. 2) Immediately reports all accidents and incidents to supervisor. 3) Keeps floor free from spills, trash or other articles. 4) Demonstrates safe lifting practices. 5).Ability to demonstrate fire (emergency) evacuation plan. 6) Adheres to lock out/tag out procedures. 7) Ensures that all waste streams are collected and stored properly.
Qualifications
EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED preferred. EXPERIENCE Minimum three years experience in the field. Minimum one year experience in a supervisory or lead capacity. LICENSURE N/A SPECIAL SKILLS Provide proof of legal status to work. Able to speak and read English. Demonstrated knowledge of position in order to train and direct staff . Demonstrated ability to communicate well, both oral and written. Successful completion of hospital orientation. Successful completion of department orientation.
